Stacy Shelton Memorial Chili Dinner/Trunk or Treat
We are so thankful to everyone who donated and came out to enjoy our first event in 2019! We regretfully must cancel this event for the 2020-2021 school year, but plans are being made for an alternate event! Check back for more details!
Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations. The National Family Partnership organized the first Nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign. NFP provides drug awareness by sponsoring the annual National Red Ribbon Campaign™ every October. Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. PTA is proud to assist Valley View counselors with funding for Red Ribbon Week in the amount of $1,800 distributed campus-wide.

Boosterthon is a highlight of the Spring semester! During this special event, students will have a blast learning all about honesty, kindness, generosity, humility, and gratitude. We'll start off the event with a pep rally, and then celebrate all that we've learned with a huge Fun Run. During Boosterthon, students will collect pledges to help fund things like technology upgrades and literacy materials. Check back for more information regarding Boosterthon 2021!
The 2020 Intermediate Blazer Kindness Run is still being planned. During the event's 10 days, students will learn about being kind, helping others and doing the right thing with fun videos made by Jr High East and daily announcements by Mrs. Bradsher. We hope to inspire students to choose kindness every day. Please follow us on Facebook to see these videos and great posters made by Jr High East. There are great prizes for the students to earn as they collect donations! In a world where you can be anything…. BE KIND!

Reflections Arts Program: I Matter Because...
National PTA Reflections welcomes all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Annually, thousands of students will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. The theme for the 2020-2021 school year is " I Matter Because..." Finished works must be turned in to the front office of the student's building before the deadline of October 13, 2020. An awards ceremony and celebration event will be held in November. State level winners will be announced at the Arkansas PTA Convention Reflections Awards Luncheon in Spring of 2021. PTA has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 Fall Festival. While this event is our largest campus-wide fundraising event, we do not feel confident that the event can safely be held this fall. Please consider supporting PTA through membership, Spirit Store, and other fundraising efforts this school year.

Our membership drive kicks off the year and we hit the ground running with things such as: Front of the line car rider auction, Red Ribbon Week, the Dana Jones Memorial 5K and Fall Festival. As the school year progresses, we stay busy promoting health and safety campaigns, anti-bullying, PBIS, arts in education with our Reflections program, collecting scholarship submissions, fundraising to purchase items like library books, technology needs, and science supplies; grounds beautification, Box Tops for Education collection, Boosterthon, and so much more.
