Red Ribbon Week

Children of parents who talk with their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.  The National Family Partnership organized the first Nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign. NFP provides drug awareness by sponsoring the annual National Red Ribbon Campaign™ every October.  Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world.  PTA is proud to assist Valley View counselors with funding for Red Ribbon Week in the amount of $1,800 distributed campus-wide.

Membership Drive

Our Membership Drive is on and we need you! You can easily become a member by clicking on our online form (online payment portal) or click and print a paper form now. There are so many reasons to join the Valley View PTA but the #1 reason is to become more active and aware in your child's education and affording you the voice to be an advocate for all of our children in the Valley View School District.

Our membership drive kicks off the year and we hit the ground running with things such as: Front of the line car rider auction, Red Ribbon Week, the Dana Jones Memorial 5K and Fall Festival. As the school year progresses, we stay busy promoting health and safety campaigns, anti-bullying, PBIS, arts in education with our Reflections program, collecting scholarship submissions, grounds beautification, Box Tops for Education collection, Boosterthon, fundraising to purchase items like library books, technology needs and science supplies, and so much more. Even when the doors have closed for Summer, your Valley View PTA is busy advocating, training, planning, and working for every student!

Fire Safety Project

Valley View PTA is partnering with the Jonesboro Fire Department to make sure every home in Valley View School district has working smoke detectors.  PTA will purchase new smoke detectors, and the JFD will install them for the families that need them.  If your home does not have working smoke detectors, please email vvblazerspta@gmail.com with subject "Fire Safety", and a member of the JFD will contact you for an installation time.

Box Tops for Education

No scissors required!  Box Tops for Education has moved to an app!  The Box Tops for Education program has developed a free app that can be downloaded from your smartphone's store, allowing you to simply submit a photo of your receipt to receive credit for your eligible purchases.  Please search "72404" on the app to quickly locate and select Valley View Elementary and get started.  We receive an average of $3000 to $4000 annually through this quick and easy program!

Reflections Arts Program: I am Hopeful Because...

National PTA Reflections welcomes all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Annually, thousands of students will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.  The theme for the 2023-2024 school year is  "I am Hopeful Because...".   Finished works must be turned in to the front office of the student's building before the deadline.   An awards ceremony and celebration event will be held in November.  State level winners will be announced at the Arkansas PTA Convention Reflections Awards Luncheon in Spring of 2024. Raise Craze

Valley View PTA will focus on kindness with our newest fundraiser.  With Raise Craze, our students will collect donations via email, and during the fundraiser our students will pay it forward with acts of kindness within the school and in the community. We hope this will allow them to spend their time serving, not selling! We are excited to bring this to our school and help our students learn to choose kindness everyday.

PTA Meetings

All of our PTA meetings are open to the public and are held on the last Monday of the month, August through May, excluding November and December due to holidays.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Read Meeting Minutes from past meetings by clicking here
